Publicise Shows - Leaflets & Word of Mouth

One of the best ways to publicise the Conquest is to get our excellent leaflets and brochures into as many locations as possible. We have heaps of them at the theatre, usually in a box behind the counter. We need as many people as possible to take a handful and put them in local shops, post offices, community centres/halls - in fact anywhere where people are likely to see them. If every person would be responsible for just one location it would make a huge difference to the amount of people we are able to reach. So PLEASE, next time you're in the theatre take some and put them in just one place. Then tell people about the shows and films - it all helps!

RUMOURS

"Rumours", the Conquest's entry to the All England Drama Festival Herefordshire Preliminary Round taking place at the Courtyard Theatre, 11-13 March 2010 begins as a light drama and ends.....well come along and see for yourself as it will be shown on Saturday 10 April at the Conquest Theatre. The leading lady role has now been filled - thanks to everyone who contacted me.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT THE THEATRE?

Did you know it costs around £1,000 per week just to keep the Conquest Theatre open?  There are many ways to support the Theatre - obviously we need to provide a good programme that you, the Public, pay to see;  we put on films in the evening on the first Friday of the month and films once a month on a Wednesday morning (we even provide subsidised bus transport for these morning films - courtesy of Bromyard Community Transport); we hire out the Theatre to groups; we offer you coffee every Saturday morning at the Coffee Shop in the Foyer; we provide costumes for hire from our wonderful Costume Department. Proceeds from all these events go to keeping a theatre in the community. And these are areas away from the stage. We also need actors, actresses and directors. We are all amateurs with a love of the theatre.  If you would like to help in any area mentioned, please contact the Theatre on 01885 488575.

Wyrd Sisters Wins Award!

We are delighted to announce that the Conquest Youth Theatre's Senior Group have won NODA's 'Best Production Award 2009 - Herefordshire' for their production of Terry Pratchett's Wyrd Sisters.

Well done to all concerned!!

On Sunday 11th April we attended the Annual Dinner & Awards Ceremony where the Youth Theatre were presented with their Silver Salver (I think it's called....) According to NODA's system the top three scoring shows during the year are nominated for the Best Production Award & among the other nominees was the Conquest Theatre's excellent production of 'Inspector Drake and the Black Widow'. So, 2 out of 3 - not bad!
