One of the best ways to publicise the Conquest is to get our excellent leaflets and brochures into as many locations as possible. We have heaps of them at the theatre, usually in a box behind the counter. We need as many people as possible to take a handful and put them in local shops, post offices, community centres/halls - in fact anywhere where people are likely to see them. If every person would be responsible for just one location it would make a huge difference to the amount of people we are able to reach. So PLEASE, next time you're in the theatre take some and put them in just one place. Then tell people about the shows and films - it all helps!
The Coffee Shop opened to the public on Saturday mornings in August and we would like to continue into the Autumn. Any offers of cakes and biscuits would be welcomed! Pop in and see us for a chat and a coffee on Saturday mornings 10.30am - 12.30pm.

We are currently in need of a lot more help and we particularly need people who are willing to commit themselves to management tasks. Please get in touch if you can help out in any of these voluntary positions:
Front of House
We need Front of House Manager to co-ordinate all FoH activities and additional volunteers to help out. Please let us know via the theatre if you can act as a Steward, sell coffees or ice creams, man the bar etc. on show nights, or if you are willing to manage the FoH area.
Box Office Manager
We are now seeking someone to manage the running of the Box Office. Duties involve co-ordinating training for the Box Office staff, organising cover for show nights & compiling Box Office reports for shows. Everything is computerised!
The Box Office should be open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Saturday 10.30am
– 12.30pm; Wednesday & Thursday 7pm – 8pm and for 1 hour before performances.
If you have any spare time during these hours & would like to help out occasionally
or on a regular basis, please get in touch as we are not always able to open
up at these times. Training provided for our new online booking system!!
The Conquest Theatre would like to thanks Elmley Small Grants Fund and Herefordshire Council for generously supporting recent funding applications. We have been able to replace the old lighting desk with a vastly improved new one and buy a new photocopier. These grants have ensured the continuation of this enterprising theatre as the new modern lighting desk allows different/touring acts to perform with the lighting they require. The forthcoming Pantomime Robinson Crusoe and the Youth Theatre’s production of Bugsy Malone in March will benefit tremendously from the new technology.

In addition the new control desk allows us to manage all our dimmers individually for the first time, enabling much greater fluidity in controlling the light on the stage in real time - especially valuable for band concerts and big cast community musicals.
