Conquest Double Bill
A Year & a Day by Christina Reid
A traveling Storyteller and a Girl meet in a land devastated by war and famine. The Storyteller remembers and conjures a long-long-ago land of peace and plenty – a beautiful garden inhabited by The Kritters of the land, the trees and the water. And then the humans come to the garden – Two tribes who worship different Gods. The Storyteller’s tale of the corruption and loss of the ancient garden is a love story that becomes a never-ending story of old ghosts who still haunt the earth. The Conquest Youth Theatre are presenting this as part of the National Theatre's Connections Youth Theatre programme prior to a performance at Bristol Old Vic in July.

Edward Albee's The Zoo Story
Peter likes nothing better than to spend a quiet afternoon reading on 'his' bench in Central Park. One day he meets Jerry, a loner who has just been to the zoo. After this encounter Peter's life will never be the same and the bench will not be 'his' anymore. Conquest directors Nic Walentowicz and Hugh Farey join forces to present this powerful drama.
