Shirley Community Gospel Choir
Christians Together in Bromyard with the sponsorship of Church Without Walls present the Shirley Community Gospel Choir
The Gospel Choir was formed in 2010 for the people of Shirley and surrounding areas to come together and enjoy gospel singing with other people. We now have over 50 people who are part of the choir
Our Music Director Katie Roe has performed at venues such as Warwick Arts Centre, Symphony Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. Katie was awarded a scholarship to study music performance at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. During her time there she became Musical Director of two choirs and has since become the musical director of Shirley Community Gospel Choir.
The Choir will be making their first visit to Bromyard on March 23 2019 and as a community choir have requested that all profits from their performance will go to support others.
Christians Together in Bromyard have chosen two charities to benefit from this concert, The S.E,E.D. (Secondary Education to Encourage Development) a local charity which helps to change the lives of children through education in the Iringa Rural Region of Tanzania. The other local organisation being supported is Bromyard Christmas Lights who are funded entirely by donations and sponsorship and are always looking for help to keep this wonderful event going. Increasingly stringent electrical regulations and Health and Safety requirements have increased our costs significantly in recent years and, although our volunteers all work for free, equipment and material costs are substantial.
