A callow, ambitious wannabe named William Shakespeare, determined to become a leading light in the early English theatre, convinces himself the only way to achieve this is to eliminate that all-pervasive Elizabethan superstar Christopher Marlowe who dominates the scene. Furtively, using enemies of the successful playwright, he manoeuvres them into murdering Marlowe.
