Folk in the Foyer: Double Bill
Mice in a Matchbox and Sue Stevens
Mice in a Matchbox are a lively acoustic duo who embrace a wide range of music. They take traditional and modern folk tunes and deliver them with their own foot tapping (stomping?) arrangements. You can expect a fascinating and entertaining evening as they weave tales of their Atlantic adventuring in their small 32 foot sailing boat into the evening. It's not folk as you are might expect; look forward to some new interpretations and a most unusual and enjoyable time!
Sue has been involved and performing in the music scene for many years. Her distinctive voice and accomplished guitar style, is used to good effect on a wide range of material from sensitive folk songs to foot stomping contemporary and self penned numbers.
Sue runs her own acoustic music club in the West Midlands called the Lighthouse Folk Club which is now in its 18th year.
During her career she has supported the likes of Nic Jones, Martin Carthy, Roaring Jelly, Malcolm Stent, Julie Felix and Dougie Maclean.
